The concertmaster of the Slovak Philharmonic last appeared in a solo recital during the pandemic in a series of concerts without an audience. This time, Jarolím Emmanuel Ružička wants to address the audience exclusively with a Slovak musical programme. The dramaturgy of the concert creates an imaginary cross-section of representative works for violin created by Slovak composers during the 20th century. While the works with the same As major key are the creations of twenty-year-old youngsters, peers of Ludovít Rajter and Eugen Suchoň, the Duhopol of Mikuláš Schneider-Trnavský is already the work of a mature creator. The youngest work of the four, Garpomania by Peter Martinček, corresponds musically with the plot twists of John Irving’s novel The World According to Garp, which was its model. The sonata is "a reaction of my mind and my then-current marches of self-finding. It is also a reflection of the time of totalitarianism in which we lived." The artistic partner will be pianist and pedagogue Dana Šašinová.
