Petr Eben has greatly enriched the impressive literature for organ with his works. Vítězslav Novák has been diligently researching folk song in Moravia and Slovakia. His method, however, was diametrically opposed to that of Leoš Janáček. The influence of folk music is evident even in the short motifs of the boisterous Postlude. The emotionally intense Sonata for harpsichord is one of the last works of Bohuslav Martinů. Miloslav Kabeláč was one of the most active Czech modernists of the 20th century. However, he often used classical models. In his work, Roman Berger always moved between philosophy, music and ethical laws. The Francis Poulenc Concerto is a great representative work of 20th century classical music.
