Our lives are accompanied by moments when we have no reason to rejoice, celebrate or applaud. There are many compositions in music that are an appropriate guide for these situations. That is how the idea of a concert without applause was born,” reveals the artistic director of the Slovak Chamber Orchestra Ewald Danel. For several seasons now, the orchestra has made it its mission to bring less traditional programmes to its audiences, while also trying to involve amateur choirs and young up-and-coming talents. The program’s dramaturgy will provide a space for meditation, quieting down, and releasing mental tension from the fast-paced cycle of everyday work life. The concert will also feature a work by Igor Garvanský, an up-and-coming composer who died in mysterious circumstances at the age of fifteen while studying in Austria.
