Piotr Sałajczyk - pedagogue, accompanist, organizer of musical events and especially a passionate interpreter of the neglected music of Polish Romanticism. His albums successively map the piano works of Juliusz Zarębski, Władysław Żeleński and Mieczysław Wajnberg. He does not shy away from contemporary music either, and at the concert we will be able to hear Scheresade by Karol Szymanowski. We will certainly be delighted with Three Preludes by George Gershwin, which are a beautiful example of the influence of jazz music in a classical setting. The recital is complemented by works by Franz Schubert and Johannes Brahms, which are among the cornerstones of the world's piano literature. The Sonata in B flat major is quite often regarded as Schubert’s farewell to life and even an otherworldly message from beyond the grave. The silence in the sonata reaches mystical realms.
